Founded in 1953 by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, St. Anthony School has created and maintained an educational system that is highly respected for its academic excellence.
The Mission of St. Anthony School is to provide a high-quality, educational experience that enhances each child’s spiritual, emotional, intellectual and social growth. Our faculty and staff prepare our students to become future leaders and responsible stewards of God’s creation.
St. Anthony School provides a strong Catholic educational foundation with high academic standards. It is committed to evangelize and celebrate the Good News and to be of service to others. The child’s physical well-being and sense of safety are consistently ensured, as respect for self and all life are emphasized.
Believing that all abilities, gifts, and talents come from God, the curriculum challenges all
students to achieve personal success and encourages and fosters self-esteem. Central to the academic program is the consideration that children have varying stages and styles of cognitive development and creative expression. Each child’s unique potential - spiritually, morally, emotionally, intellectually, physically and culturally - are recognized and respected.
Students are encouraged to be mutually supportive of one another, to be caring and kind toward each other, to be cooperative and responsible in their peer relationships and to respect and celebrate each other’s traditions and cultures. All parents are viewed as valuable members of the school family and their involvement in various school activities is encouraged. In an ongoing partnership with parents, along with their children entrusted to us, we extend the feeling of family to the larger parish and local community.
The graduates take with them an appreciation of all persons regardless of social, cultural or religious heritage. They are sensitive to the human dignity of each person. They become like Jesus: honest, respectful, responsible, self-disciplined, persevering, compassionate and giving adults.
