Beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year, St. Anthony School and St. Paul School will combine to form St. Anthony-St. Paul School. This new St. Anthony-St. Paul School will operate as one school with two campuses. For the 2020-2021 school year, what is now St. Paul School will be a dedicated early childhood learning center focused on students in Pre-Kindergarten, Universal PreK (UPK), Kindergarten and Grade 1. The current St. Anthony School will host students in Grades 2 – 8. Starting in school year 2021-2022 and moving forward, the St. Paul campus will host Pre-Kindergarten, Universal PreK (UPK), Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2, and the St. Anthony campus will host Grades 3-8.
Modifying these two schools to a grade-level focus will provide new, exciting academic and program enhancement opportunities beyond what is currently offered to both student bodies. This reorganization offers us an exciting opportunity to pilot a new and more robust focus on concentrated instruction for grades 3-8 while better serving the unique needs of our youngest students.
The Early Childhood Education program will focus on alignment with the new New York State Department of Education P-3 (PreK-2nd Grade) continuum to ensure a strong educational foundation. An added benefit of housing the Early Childhood program at one location will be the ability to provide a summer camp program, which will be open to the youngest learners from all of our Rockland Catholic schools.
The regional Director of Enrollment, Ms. Kelli DeRocha, will be available to each family to answer any questions and provide updates on how this process will unfold and what new opportunities will be possible thanks to this consolidation. Additional information and resources regarding this transition, including the contact information for the director of enrollment, can be found at https://catholicschoolsny.org/st-anthony.
We are excited to begin this great new venture with you!
Sincerely,
